nothing new

I’m suprised that it’s been 10 days since the Smike post. It seems like just yesterday.
I have read no more of NN. Instead, I’ve been doing tax stuff. My accountant called me the other night and casually dropped this: Oh, I think you are probably required to start filing your payroll deposits with the three day rule now, not the monthly rule. You are probably in violation. You might want to check into it. The reason I didn’t mention it before is that I didn’t want to muddle your head with too many things right now.
I think he means well. And he was right; we are supposed to make the deposits three days after payroll.
I saw Pan’s Labryinth. Pretty makeup. But I would never see it again.
thanks for the update. i wanted to see pan’s labrynth but it was sold out so i saw children of men instead.
so wait, yuo do all the work and he doesn’t even help you before shit hits the fan or answer questions? maybe you need a new accountant?
i had to do business taxes as well as personal taxes this year and it took a weekend filled with a lot of yelling. good thing i keep everything organized or someone would be dead.
btw i tried to login to the site with the name and password we e-mailed about and it was a no go.
Jilly, were you using MsJilly as the username? It’s case sensitive.
The accountant’s okay. But he does drive me crazy. I’m hoping he’ll retire someday.
How was Children of Men? It looks good.
great…. you tickle our fancy with the casual comment that the sex is better and then you follow up with payroll tax rules…
Hmmm - I remember saying this somewhere else recently, but it’s true: Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, Accountants are from Pluto.
R
Bert, that’s the story of my life.
I enjoyed Children of men but it’s not got a lot in common with the book .
dang I have been wanting to see Pan’s Labrynth, It got really good reviews and looked so very interesting. Was it too intense? Too Dark? inquiring minds (well mine anyhow) want to know
I think everyone should see P’s L once, Lori. (Or more, if desired.)
I don’t want to give anything away and it IS a good movie, but the violence was over the top for me. I’ll say this: I can’t bear watching torture scenes, especially since I know we’re doing it to prisoners ourselves.
I wanted to see PL after Verbie gave it a thumbs up, but then I read reviews and decided I do not want to see it. Nazis and torture and violence. No thanks.
i liked children of men. the violence in it was realistic in that one second everyone is living a normal life and then boom a terrorist attack happens and changes everything, but the survivors are expected to just go on about life like regular. i didn’t read the book, but the acting was good. a lot of the plot was easy to guess ahead of time, but that didn’t ruin it for me.
