It’s weird not to receive mail for two days in a row during the holidays.
The neighbors got together and shoveled and snow-blew the cul de sac today. I googled my address and was hoping to see a white snowy mess, but it must be an old photo because there are green leaves and grass. That ship sailed a long time ago.
I’m hoping to get out of here tomorrow or Saturday, at the latest. I still have a bit of shopping to do, and have to go get my Tyler (Perry-Madea) Florence prime rib.
Hi Tree,
I wouldn’t miss my mail. All we usually get are bills, solicitations, and ads. I wouldn’t miss that crap.
The pictures of the Denver area were just amazing!
When the roads get plowed where do thet put it all???
Emma, there are big piles of snow everywhere. The sun will soon take care of everything. I see a blue sky this morning and the temperature should get to 35. I’ll try to take some pictures.
Our night time temperatures dipped into the 20s earlier this week, but by New Years Day we’ll be the picture of a warm winter, and all the American masses huddled around their heaters will again wish they lived in SoCal, and a small percentage will actually make the move. Don’t any of you fall for it! Stay away from California!
I sent Mr. Tree out to buy a prime rib. I had no idea how expensive they are! Shit, I hope I cook it right.
Our dog, if she knew and she could count, would be ecstatic, because Liz got a 4-bone prime rib.
I think it’s easy to overcook a prime rib; don’t take any chances. If it’s too red, you can always give it a shot of radar range radiation.
I’m thinking of buying an instant-read thermometer. Does Liz use one? I’m doing a horseradish-salt rub (that gets taken off before consumption.)
No mail today!
She ‘dries’ it, whatever that means, and then salts & peppers it, and then rubs it down with dijon mustard. She then makes a lot of slits and sticks pieces of garlic into all the slits. She admits that she should use a thermometer, but says ‘playing it by ear’ has worked for her so far.
Hey, it’s just meat…
Well, my trip to Target was thwarted by being stuck four times in four blocks in the slush. So there will be no instant-read thermometer. I’ll have to “Liz” it. Thanks for the advice. We’re a medium-rare kind of family, so I’ll watch the meat carefully.
Merry Christmas Tree!
Glad you got shovelled out too. I had to laugh, the when the paper started back up, I got three days worth in a clump - like I wanted the old ones. Trying to pick a couple things up at King Soopers on Saturday was one of the ugliest scenes I have ever seen. Funny how the milk, bread, gas and grocery trucks could not get out, yet I saw both a Bud Light and Budweiser truck out delivering. Ha!
Good morning, Lady. We can get out of the house in the Jeep, but after being burned the other day in my mom-car, I am still worried about driving. The drive to Loveland wasn’t bad, but there were still a lot of abandoned cars stuck in drifts all over I-25. I also got three papers yesterday. Ha. I’m hoping for some more mail today. Some of the gas stations around our house were completely out of gas, but we found one. I’m kind of ready to get back to normal.
